2018 - postermyfrenchfilmfestival2019-001

All of you French film lovers out there, the wait is finally over! MyFrenchFilmFestival, the world's first online French film festival, is back from 18 January to 18 February 2019. For a whole month, enjoy a selection of the best French and Francophone movies, from the comfort of your home!

Last year, MyFrenchFilmFestival was a real success, with nearly 12 million viewers gathered in 200 countries across the globe, via the MyFrenchFilmFestival website and other partner platforms. This year, the festival will once again allow viewers to discover the best of new generation French-language filmmakers. The films will be accessible from anywhere around the world through any media device. In South Africa and in every country on the African continent, the festival is 100% free!

Throughout the month, internet users worldwide will be able to watch a selection of 10 feature films and 10 short films in competition, as well as several films presented out of competition. All films are subtitled in 11 languages: French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin Chinese.

With comedies, thrillers, rom-coms, dramas, and classics, there is something for everybody. All you have to do is pick your film, sit back and relax and enjoy the best of French cinema for free!

THE COMPETITION

Internet users around the world are invited to vote on the festival platform to select their favorite feature film and short film.

To vote, go to MyFrenchFilmFestival.com, create a profile, watch the movies and select your favorite!

Three prizes will be presented at the closing of the festival: the Filmmakers' Prize, with a jury composed of international film directors; the Lacoste Audience Prize, where web users around the world can vote for their favorite films via the festival platform; and the International Press Prize, selected by a jury composed of journalists from major international media outlets.

SPECIAL SCREENING

This year, the French Institute of South Africa is partnering with the movie theatre company Ster-Kinekor, to allow film lovers to enjoy some of the best films French cinema has to offer, on the big screen! The screening will take place on January 26th at the Ster-Kinekor of Maponya Mall in Soweto.
