SA artist Paul Emmanuel talks about his latest project "Lost Men France" at IFAS, Johannesburg

ololo

"The Lost Men France" will be an entirely new installation planned to coincide with the 100th year commemoration of World War I, which begins in 2014 in France. In the battles that were fought in the Verdun/Normandy/Delville Wood areas during 1916, many South African soldiers died. The Battle of Verdun is known as the single worst land battle ever fought. It had the most casualties ever recorded in any war in human history. Plans for this commemoration are under way by the various governments who were involved in this war. A new body of works will be produced in addition to the memorial installation.

Paul Emmanuel will be talking on Wednesday 26 Octobre from 18:30 - Ifas, 62 Juta Street, Braamfontein
