Celebrate the 90th birthday of Pierre Boulez, one of the giants of 20th century music.

Join Jill Richards and Waldo Alexander for an informal, informative and interactive day of fun and music. We will explore Boulez' work, and discuss his relationships with two other giants: John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen, with music performed by Wits students. Hear one of the classics of 20th century repertoire: Cage's 4'33", as well as the Boulez 2nd piano sonata, Anthèmes (with live electronics), and Domaines played by clarinettist Morné van Heerden.

Do join us for a lively day of music, videos, food and discussion. No knowledge required, only your ears!

This event is generously supported by the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) and the Goethe-Institut. Prosound is proud to be part of this noteworthy event in the supply of audio products including Maestro speakers, DPA microphones and a Midas mixing console.
