French Ambassador at the FNB Joburg Art Fair

The 2013 edition of the FNB Joburg Art Fair enjoyed a great turnout of more than 10,000 visitors, professionals, collectors at the Sandton Convention Centre between 27 and 29 September. With its aims of promoting African visual arts, the JAF hosted 33 South African and international galleries of which the 4 French galleries, Beaudouin Lebon, Galea, Handpick I Jpaka and I love my Job, as well as the stand Bamako Encounters dedicated to the African Emerging Photography and supported by the Institut Français, the French Institute of South Africa and Art Logic. The French Ambassador, H.E. Mrs Elisabeth Barbier, visited the fair and met Mr Samuel Sidibé, Director of the National Museum of Mali and Delegate General of the Bamako Encounters, at the opening on Friday 27 September.

La FNB Joburg Art Fair, qui s’est déroulée au Sandton Convention Centre à Johannesburg du 27 au 29 septembre 2013, a accueilli cette année plus de 10,000 visiteurs, professionnels et collectionneurs. Trente-trois galeries sud-africaines et internationales dont les quatre galeries françaises Beaudouin Lebon, Galea, Handpick I Jpaka and I love my Job étaient présentes à la JAF qui a pour but de promouvoir l’art contemporain africain ; à noter le stand Les Rencontres de Bamako soutenu par l’Institut français, l’Instistut Français d’Afrique du Sud et Art Logic qui a mis à l’honneur de jeunes photographes émergents du continent africain. L’Ambassadrice de France, H.E. Mme Elisabeth Barbier, s’est rendue à la foire où elle rencontra Mr Samuel Sidibé, Directeur du Musée National du Mali et Délégué Général des Rencontres de Bamako, à l'ouverture le vendredi 27 septembre.
