Books Presentation

On the literary front, IFAS-Dibuka supports South African publishers and translators for the translation and publication of French language books into South African languages. The Institute also presents French and Francophone writers in literary cafés, conferences and festivals : Time of the Writer, the International Writers’ Festival which takes place in Durban, Franschhoek Literary festival, Mail & Guardian Literary Festival and Open Book Cape Town.

Dibuka is a multi-media library focussing on France and contemporary francophone culture, the result of a partnership between the French Embassy in South Africa, the French Institute of South Africa and the Alliance française of Johannesburg. The library offers to the general public almost 20 000 documents for adults, teenagers and children: books, comics, CD's and videos (French cinema and documentaries, French Press, manuals to learn French, French language teaching aid and more...)
