The talents of the urban cinema are invited to participate in the call for entries of the Urban Films Festival. Directors can submit their videos until March 30th.

Founded by RStyle and supported by the CNC (French National Film Commission), the Urban Films Festival is the first film festival dedicated to urban culture. Rough characters, funny or pathetic, true stories, dark or crazy, find their common denominator in the same scene: The street, from Paris to Sao Polo via Bamako or Boston. These scenarios highlight the art FROM the street and the art IN the street.

Through 8 editions, the Urban Films Festival has become a reference in the cinematic landscape. It showed hundreds of news films, invited more than fifty directors, and revealed a sharp selection of films to a growing audience.

Loyal sponsor of the festival, Jamel Debbouze, famous French comedian, actor and producer, will chair this 9th edition which will award the winners of the three listed categories:
Short films: Fiction (maximum duration 15 minutes)
Performance: Culture, fashion, and urban sports (maximum duration 5 minutes)
Documentaries: Street art & Lifestyle

The best directors will be awarded and rewarded by, among other things, a grant of € 15,000, the purchase and distribution of their films or video equipment.

To participate, candidates are invited to send their work (in .Mov format, size 1080x1920) at the address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , or by mail at RStyle, 74 rue d’Aubervilliers 75019 Paris (France), before March 30th, 2014.

The Urban Films Festival 2014 aims to offer a new look at the short films landscape, and to highlight the future talents.
