Young & Beautiful in cinemas on 6th December

jeune-jolie-marine-vacth-francois-ozonThe French film Young & Beautiful, directed by François Ozon will be released in cinemas from the 6th December nationwide, at Ster Kinekor - Cinema Nouveau. A premiere of the movie will be organised by the French Institute of South Africa on the 5th December in Johannesburg and Cape Town, together with the Alliance Française, in partnership with Ster Kinekor Cinema Nouveau.

The film is a provocative and disturbing exploration of a teenager turning to prostitution as part of her adolescent crisis. It was part of the Official selection for the Cannes Festival 2013 and François Ozon made an uproar then with some controversial statements to the press saying “it's a fantasy of many women to do prostitution”.

Synopsis:

Isabelle is a 17-year-old girl from a well-off family in Paris. Like every teenager, she has secrets that she keeps hidden from her family. But while other teens experiment with cigarettes and drugs, Isabelle takes up prostitution and gradually becomes more entrenched in her dangerous, shrouded new life.
