Fête de la Musique 2013, Melville Music Day, postponed

Due to the serious condition of Former President Nelson Mandela, The Alliance Française, the Melville Resident Association and the French Institute of South Africa feel that it would be inappropriate to go forth with the Melville‐Fête de la Musique this Saturday 29th of June 2013. It is also felt that out of respect for Mr Mandela and his family, it would be ill‐suited to go ahead with what is essentially supposed to be a celebration.

The organisers have decided to postpone the Melville‐Fête de la Musique to Saturday 27th of July 2013, allowing all officials, persons, artists, sponsors involved to host a Fête de la Musique under the best conditions.

We trust you will understand our decision and that we will all stand by each other in this choice.

Concert Charles X - From biting rap to sensual soul music

Charles X is as old as the era he worships. 26 years old, Dales Anthony Doss, A.K.A Charles X, seems straight out of the dawn of the 90s, in the middle of hip hop's golden age (A Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets) and of nu soul (D'Angelo, Maxwell). Except that the Californian does not settle… Read more
