This missionary trip is an account of the conversations with the Sotho King who had never seen white people before meeting missionaries.

This publication includes also a Notice on the Zulas, Chapter XVI of the Relation where we find the Praise Song to Dingan, King of the Zulus and Shaka’s successor. This text was obtained on the field in 1838 from Zulus who had taken refuge in Lesotho. It was transcribed and translated by Arbousset and was probably the first Bantu praise song to benefit from such an ethnographic treatment.
