20 Years of Franco-South African Cooperation in Archaeology

12-16 October 2015
Johannesburg

The 20th anniversary of the Franco-South African cooperation in archaeology is the occasion to celebrate the diversity and the richness of this partnership of scientific excellence. A series of scientific and cultural events will take place during the week of the 12th October 2015, from the vitality of paleontology to the rediscovery of precolonial history, from the overview of the most significant archaeological sites to the implementation of new training programmes. It will offer the opportunity to assess the scientific and institutional successes of this bilateral cooperation while laying the prospective foundations for future projects.

This event is organised after the first celebration, “South Africa, Cradle of Humankind”, held in France on the 7th of February 2015, at the French Senate.
