One or two doctoral or post-doctoral research positions are available at IFAS-Research.
These posts are financed through non-renewable relocation allowances (Aides à la mobilité) for 4 to 9 months (maximum). Successful applicants will receive the scientific and logistic support of IFAS-Research and will become involved in the scientific life of the Institute by regularly taking part in the ongoing activities (conferences, seminars, publications, etc.).
Applicants must be French or registered in a French university or in a French research centre.
Applicants will be selected on the basis of scientific criteria only, although the integration potential of the project into the academic landscape of Southern Africa will be taken into consideration. Priority will be given to applicants whose research is in line with the research programmes of the Institute:

- Archaeology and Prehistory
- Medieval, Early Modern and Contemporary History of Southern African Societies
- Contemporary Dynamics: Urbans Studies, Democratic and Economic Transformations

Un ou deux postes pour des recherches doctorales ou post-doctorales sont à pourvoir à l’IFAS-Recherche.
Les postes sont financés sous forme d’aides à la mobilité internationale pour une durée de 4 à 9 mois (maximum), non renouvelable. Les candidat.e.s retenu.e.s recevront l’appui scientifique et logistique de l’IFAS-Recherche et participeront à l’animation scientifique de l’Institut en prenant part régulièrement à ses activités (séminaires, tables-rondes, colloques, publications).
Les candidat.e.s doivent être français.e.s, inscrit.e.s dans une université française, ou rattaché.e.s à une UMR.
La sélection des candidatures se fera sur les seuls critères scientifiques, mais le potentiel d’intégration du projet dans le paysage académique de l’Afrique australe et les perspectives d’un partenariat durable seront pris en considération. Les projets en rapport avec les axes de recherche de l’Institut auront la priorité :

- Archéologie et préhistoire
- Histoire médiévale, moderne, et contemporaine des sociétés de l’Afrique australe
- Dynamiques contemporaines : études urbaines, mutations démocratiques et économiques
