Home in Exile: Life in Zaatari Refugee Camp

In the current refugee crisis, the UNHCR has highlighted two great areas of departure: the Middle East and Central Africa.

Cities such as Johannesburg emerged from massive transfers of populations in the late 19th century, and recent migrations even reshaped neighbourhoods and their activities. Similarly, Jordan has become a terminus for migrants and refugees fleeing different crises across the Middle East.

This exhibition proposes an overview of a specific refugee camp, which is currently  the second largest “city” in Jordan.

Centered on the Zaatari Refugee Camp and supported by the French Lajeh research programme, Home in Exile is organised by IFAS-Research in partnership with the Afro-Middle East Centre (AMEC).
