Lesedi\u00a0: Carnets de terrain<\/em>, la revue en ligne et en acc\u00e8s ouvert de l\u2019IFAS-Recherche, propose un nouveau num\u00e9ro sp\u00e9cial intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0BrAIn Evolution, palaeosciences, neuroscience and artificial intelligence\u00a0\u00bb. Il rend compte des avanc\u00e9es du projet \u00ab\u00a0EndoMap: Mapping the brain of our ancestors\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>, qui rassemble les comp\u00e9tences de pal\u00e9oanthropologues, neuroscientifiques, informaticiens-math\u00e9maticiens et pal\u00e9ontologues,<\/strong> afin de mettre au point de nouveaux outils permettant\u00a0une relecture des endocr\u00e2nes fossiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce num\u00e9ro regroupe sept articles apportant une r\u00e9flexion sur les possibles apports et contributions d\u2019une technologie comme l\u2019intelligence artificielle et des disciplines qui traitent du comportement (psychologie, bioarch\u00e9ologie) \u00e0 la reconstitution du cerveau de nos anc\u00eatres. \u00a0Il donne suite au colloque BrAIn Evolution, organis\u00e9 par Am\u00e9lie Beaudet, Caroline Fonta et l\u2019IFAS-Recherche en novembre 2023. \u00c0 cette occasion, des chercheurs et chercheuses (affili\u00e9.es \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Witwatersrand, l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Cape Town, l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Cambridge et au CNRS\/Mus\u00e9um National d\u2019Histoire Naturelle), pal\u00e9oanthropologues et sp\u00e9cialistes de la cognition ou de l\u2019intelligence artificielle se sont joint.es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipe du projet EndoMap pour mener ces r\u00e9flexions prospectives croisant les connaissances.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

IFAS-Research is releasing a new special issue of L<\/em>esedi: Field\nnotes<\/em>, IFAS-Research\u2019s open access journal, entitled \u201cBrAIn\nEvolution, palaeosciences, neuroscience and artificial intelligence\u201d. It\nreports on the progress of the “EndoMap: Mapping the brain of our\nancestors” project, which brings together the skills of\npalaeoanthropologists, neuroscientists, computer scientists, mathematicians,\nand palaeontologists to develop new tools for re-reading fossil endocrania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This issue brings together seven articles looking at the possible contributions of technologies such as artificial intelligence and behaviour sciences, psychology and bioarchaeology to the reconstruction of our ancestors’ brains. It draws from a conference organized by Amelie Beaudet, Caroline Fonta and IFAS-Research in November 2023. In that perspective, researchers (affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand, the University of Cape Town, the University of Cambridge and the CNRS\/Mus\u00e9um National d’Histoire Naturelle<\/em>), palaeoanthropologists and specialists in cognition or artificial intelligence have joined the EndoMap project to lead these forward-looking cross-disciplinary reflections.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
