Snatched up like trophies by colonizers, the works fertilized European art before acquiring recognition as universal masterpieces on their own right. But in Africa, their absence is still traumatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The screening will be followed by a discussion about the links between artefact, land and identity, with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sophie Chevalier<\/strong>, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens (France), visiting researcher at IFAS-Research this year, and head of the research centre \u201cHabiter le monde\u201d,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scout Fynn<\/strong>, multidisciplinary artist, writer, and cultural practitioner based in Durban,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Robin Moodley<\/strong>, Durban-based artist, designer and farmer. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will also feature an exhibition of some of Robin Moodley&#8217;s artwork.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Restitution? &#8211; From artefact to land, searching for identity.
