Ce numéro de Trialog porte sur la reconfiguration et la remesure du contrôle de l’espace urbain, par l’examen de l’importance politique et des implications socio-spatiales de la diversificiation des parties intéressées aux intérêts différents et parfois concurrentiels. L’attention ne porte pas sur l’aspect sécuritaire, mais sur le contrôle de l’espace urbain dans un sens plus large – dans sa production aussi bien que sa gestion.
Ce numéro se fonde en partie sur le programme de recherche coordonné par Elisabeth Peyroux et Delphine Sangodeyi sur la “Privatisation de la sécurité dans les villes d’Afrique sub-saharienne : dynamiques urbaines et nouvelles formes de gouvernance” (IFAS-Recherche, IFRA d’Ibadan et de Nairobi, 2003-2006), auquel plusieurs auteur·ices ont également participé (Claire Bénit-Gbaffou, Sophie Didier, Laurent Fourchard).
This issue of Trialog focuses on the reconfiguration and rescaling of the control of urban space, examining the political significance as well as the socio-spatial implications of the diversification of stakeholders with different and sometimes competing interests. The focus is here not primarily on security, bu ton the control of urban space in a broader sense – in its production as well as management.
This issue partly relies on the research programme co-ordinated by Elisabeth Payroux and Delphine Sangodeyi on “The Privatisation of Security in Sub-Sararan African Cities: Urban Dynamics and New Forms of Governance” (IFAS-Research, French Institutes for Research in Africa in Ibadan and Nairobi, 2003-2006), in which several other authors also participated (Claire Bénit-Gbaffou, Sophie Didier, Laurent Fourchard).
