Research-Creation: A performed conference

Dans le cadre du programme Débats des Idées, des chercheur·ses et des artistes du Nigeria, d’Afrique du Sud, du Ghana et de France se sont réuni·es à l’IFRA-Nigéria, à Ibadan, pour un atelier de recherche-création. Celui-ci a abouti à une conférence performée à l’Alliance Française de Lagos, le 24 septembre 2026. Mêlant son, mouvement et écriture, cette performance interactive a exploré la manière dont les pratiques artistiques ouvrent d’autres façons de penser les questions de recherche et de les transmettre . Les participant·es s’en sont servi·es pour interroger la notion de positionnalité : comment la position et l’expérience des chercheur·ses façonnent la production et la transmission des connaissances. Cet événement était co-organisé par l’IFAS-Recherche et l’IFRA-Nigeria.

As part of the Débats des Idées programme, researchers and artists from Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana and France came together at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, for a research-creation workshop. It culminated in a performed conference at the Alliance Française de Lagos on 24 September 2026. Combining sound, movement and writing, this interactive performance explored how artistic practice can open new ways of thinking about research questions and sharing knowledge. Participants used it to question the notion of positionality: how researchers’ positions and experiences shape the way knowledge is produced and communicated. This event was co-organized by IFAS-Research and IFRA-Nigeria.
