10th Annual Student Development Workshop of the Southern African Archaeology Student Society, 09-13 December

Organised every year over the past decade by the Southern African Archaeology Student Society, the Student Development Workshop aims to bring together students from the SADC region to learn critical skills often overlooked in university settings, creating an engaging space where participants can prepare for diverse archaeological careers.

The 10th Annual Student Development Workshop was held at the University of the Witwatersrand, in South Africa, from the 9th to the 13th of December 2024. The workshop welcomed 42 participants (including council members) from 9 SADC countries and 17 Universities, including Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The programme included lectures, practical workshops, networking opportunities and convivial moments.

The support of IFAS-Research enabled the participation of 3 Malawian students.
