This book focuses on the film propaganda used by the apartheid regime in the 1970s and 1980s during the authoritarian relocation of Cape Town’s ‘coloured’ population to the newly built township of Mitchell’s Plain – then presented as a huge social advance and a resounding success of the policy of spatial segregation pursued since the 1950s.
