Adaptatio is a research project funded by French Ministry of Ecology. It is managed by Morgane Colombert (EIVP) and involves different French partners: EIVP, EGIS Concept, CDC Climat, CSTB and the City of Paris. The purpose of Adaptatio is to suggest a novel methodology to take into consideration the issue of adaptation to climate change during the design process of urban planning projects. It is necessary to think adaptation and mitigation in a conjunctive way and upstream, notably, of the design process of urban planning projects.

Within the frame of Adaptatio, we will focus on two key resources namely water and energy. This suggested methodology will be based on the development of a novel and simple tool which will give the possibility to assess water and energy consumptions of an urban planning project following different climatic scenarios. The objective is to provide quantitative information to anticipate future situation
