Join us for the screening of UPRIZE!, followed by a Q&A with one of the filmmakers, Tshego Molete Khanyile.
This film explores the overlooked 1976 protests in Bonteheuwel, Langa, and the Cape Flats, reflecting on student deaths, state brutality, and the Black Consciousness Movement through the voices of struggle stalwarts—shedding light on the fight for education then and now.
Post screening Q&A with Noluthando Rotwana (Facilitator), Tshego Molete Khanyile (Filmmaker) & Noor Nieftagodien (Wits History Professor)
Uprize screening and Q&A is coordinated by LIME Creative Hub & Love Affinity Media as part of Save The Youth, supported by Gauteng Film Commission, the French Institute of South Africa and IFAS-Research.
This event is free, but RSVP is required (HERE).
